Objective To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of Salmonella in food workers in Anning city, Yunnan province from 2016 to 2018. Methods From 2016 to 2018, 60533 samples of anal swabs from food practitioners were selected for serotype identification test and drug sensitivity test. Results A total of 186 strains of Salmonella were detected, with a total detection rate of 0.307%. 43 serotypes of Salmonella were identified by biochemical and serological methods, among which the most common serotypes were Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella enteritis and Salmonella london. Of the 13 antibiotics, 11 developed varying levels of resistance. Conclusion Food practitioners carry many types of Salmonella bacteria, with a trend of diversity in serotypes, and severe drug resistance. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the health examination management of practitioners.
