Objective To explore the feasibility of applying flight inspection method in inspection of food production and operation enterprises. Methods Based on unannounced inspection of 282 food production and trading enterprises, inspection details were summarized, sorted, comparatively studied, and analyzed. Results Compared with license inspection and daily inspection, unannounced inspection had remarkable advantages and could serve as a good complement to the former 2 inspection modes. Conclusion Unannounced inspection is used in the inspection of food production and operation enterprises, which can effectively make up for the deficiency of license inspection and daily inspection. The introduction of unannounced inspection in food safety supervision can thoroughly investigate the quality and safety risks in food production and operation enterprises, and help enterprises to take the initiative to enhance the awareness of the main responsibility.
