Objective To explore the status of lead contamination in main food in Miyun district of Beijing. Methods Surveillance on 363 samples from local market, supermarkets, food stores, and planting-aquaculture of Miyun district was conducted from 2013 to 2015. Lead content in food samples were determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption according to GB 2762-2012 National food safety standard maximum levels of contaminants in foods. Results The rate of exceeding national standard of lead limit was 1.38%. Animal viscera were all positive, and the rate of exceeding national standard of lead limit reached at 16.67%. Other 5 types of food samples did not exceed national standard. Conclusion The over-limit rate of lead in food samples collected from Miyun district was relatively low, except in animal viscera, which should be controlled.
