Objective To establish a method for identification of dioxopromethazine hydrochloride illegally added in health care food. Methods The dioxopromethazine hydrochloride was identified by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and ultra performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time of flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-QTOF-MS), and the content was determined by high performance liquid chro-matography (HPLC). Results The linear range of the method was between 11.149 and 222.977 μg/mL, and the regression equation was Y=4.8870×104X+8.6351×103 with correlation coefficient of 0.9999. The detection limit was 1.115 μg/mL. Conclusion The method is convenient, reliable and accurate. It can be used to detect illegal adulteration of dioxopromethazine hydrochloride in health care food.
