Twoimportantstatementsserveasthefoundationfor"HealthyCity,HealthyLandscape."First,in1948,theWorldHealthCenterdefinedhealthas"astateofcompletep坷sical,mentalandsocialwell-beingandnotmerelytheabsenceofdiseaseorinfirmity."Second,in1992,theUnitedNationspublishedtheRioDeclarationonEnvironmentandDevelopmentandclaimed"Humanbeingsareatthecentreofconcernsforsustainabledevelopment.Theyareentitledtoahealthyandproductivelifeinharmonywithnature."Thesestatementsprovidejustificationforourwork.Ourcitizens'mentalhealthisseriouslychallengedbycomplexenvironmentalandsocialfactors.Greenurbanlandscapecanprovidespacesforcitizenstorecoverfromstressandattentionfatigue.Exposuretosuchplacescanhelppreventdaily,acutestressfrombecomingchronicstress,whichcanseriouslyharmhumanhealthandsocialcohesion.
