Commonutilitytunnels(utilidors)areattractingmoreandmoreattentioninChinawiththerapidurbandevelopmentandgrowingneedforpublicfacilities.Chinaisalargecountrywithahugenorth-southdivide,whichleadstodifferentsituationsofconstruction,typesofutilitiesincorporated,routedesignandgovernanceissuesforutilitytunnelsindifferentcities.ThispaperintroducesthelateststatusforsuchtunnelsinChinabycollectingandanalyzingexistingandplannedutilitytunnelsinChinafrom1959to2020.Furthermore,thekeyissuesthatmayinfluencethedevelopmentofutilitytunnelsinthenextdecadeinChinaaresummarized.These,incombinationwiththedomesticandforeignresearchstatus,suggesttypicalcasesandapolicyorientationwhichmaybehelpfultothefuturedevelopmentofcommonutilitytunnelsinChinaandothercountries.
