EnergysavingandemissionreductionarebecomingmoreandmoreurgentwiththesteadydevelopmentofChineseauto-motiveindustry.ThevehicleNEDCtestiscarriedoutonalightdutyvehicle.BasedontheconceptofVehicleSpecificPower(VSP),therelationshipbetweenvehiclespecificpowerdistributionandtheemissionandfuelconsumptionofthevehicleonachassisdynamome-terisanalyzed.AfteranalyzingthecharacteristicsofVSP,itisfoundthatthedistributionrangeofVSPismainlyfrom-30kW/tto30kW/tintheNEDCcycle.TheVSPinurbandrivingcycleisdividedinto24binsandtherelationshipsbetweenemissionandVSPbinsareanalyzed.ThefrequencycurveofthenumberofVSPBinsisobservedinanormaldistribution.ThereisasignificantrelationshipbetweeneachgaseousemissionandVSP.Accordingtotheresultsofthisstudy,VSPcanbeusedtocharacterizethevehicleactivitiesandaccu-ratefortheestimationofemissionsandfuelconsumptionunderreal-worlddrivingconditions.Theanalysisandresultsprovideanap-proachtotheresearchofexhaustemissionsandfuelconsumption.
