DepartmentofRuralRoad,Thailand(DRR)hasbeencollectingroadconditiondatabasedontwomethods,firstlyisroadsurveyvehicleforcollectingInternationalRoughnessIndex(IRI)andpavementdistress,andsecondlybyvisualinspectionbyDRRinspectors.Thefieldinspectorshavetorecordroadcondition,evaluatemaintenancerequirementbyusingsurveyform,andpreparesummaryreport.Thisprocessdoesnotonlytimeconsumingbutalsoneedwelltrainedinspectorsforfieldinspectionaswell.AlsothecollecteddataneedtobeimportedthesurveydatainthePavementMaintenanceManagementSystem(PMMS).ThisstudythereforeappliestheLocationBasedService(LBS)technologybasedonGlobalPositioningSystem(GPS),communicationnetwork,andmobiledevicetolessentheprocessoftheconventionaldatacollectingmethod.Theresearchershavedevelopedthemobileapplicationontablettohelpinspectorstocollectdataeasilyforroutinemaintenance.Thedatacompriseoffourgroupswhichareroadassets,roadconditionsandmaintenancerequirementworks,actualmaintenanceworksandroadnetworkevaluation.Thedatacanbedisplayedonamapcorrectlywhichcanenhancetheefficiencyforfieldinspectors'operation,especiallyondatacollectionandmaintenancemonitoring.
