Thispaperinvestigatesintovehicletractionperformanceenhancementusingactivedifferentialsintherearaxleofavehi-cle.Vehiclepower-trainsystemmodelaugmentedwithactiveoropendifferentialrespectivelyisdeveloped,whichtakesintoaccountthedraftsandwheeldynamics.ThetractionperformancesofvehicleareillustratedwithcomputersimulationsusingSimscape/Drivelinetool-box.Simulationresultsshowthatactivedifferentialisaneffectivedevicetoobtainanasymmetrictorquedistributionbytorquevectoringbetweenrightandleftwheelswithlessenergyloss,anditalsopossessesbetteraccelerationperformanceincontrastwiththeopendiffer-entialonsplit-μandsloperoadconditions.
