Traditionalconeclutchsynchronizerwhichismostlyusedinvehicleusesfrictiontoimplementsynchronizationtoaccomplishgearshift.Thatleadstosomedisadvantages.InthispaperanewmechanismconceptnamedHarpoon-shiftisproposed.Itisdesignedasanalternativetothetraditionalsynchronizerinautomatictransmission.Harpoon-shifthassimplerstructuretomanufacturethanthetraditionalsynchronizer.Additionally,asimplerelectromotorcontrolsystemisusedtoreplacecomplexhydraulicsystemtochangegearsduringshifting.Harpoon-shiftwillofferspotentialenergyeconomyimprovementsbyimproveddrivetrainefficiencyandbettervehicleaccelerationability.FirstlythemechanicalstructureofHarpoon-shiftisshowedasvirtualmechanicalmodeldesignedbyProE.Ithas5maincomponentsincludingoneidlergearwithintegralgroovering,oneguidering,oneflexiblecomponentbetweentheguideringandthegroovering,oneHarpoon-shifthuboneHarpoonshiftsleeve.Harpoon-shiftmakesuseofanindirectengagement,whichgivesapre-accelerationtothechosengeartorealizethesmoothgearshift.Themathematicmodeling,simulationandanalysisofthenewmechanismconceptarepresentedinthispaperasaseparatedpartfromgearbox.AccordingtothatthecomponentsofHarpoonshiftareonthesameshaftandthemainmotionisrotation.themodelingisbuiltwithoneDOF.Mechanismengagementisdemonstratedinrigidbodymodelswithdetailedinteractionaltorquemodelsconsideringthegeometricallimitation.toestablishitsvariationoveritsprocess.Theparameterse.g.mass,stiffness.anglesofengagementarevariableinsimulationmodel.TheparameterstudyingmakescontributionstocomparisonsandoptimizationofHarpoon-shiftstructure.Thenanoptimizedstructureischosenforcomparisonoftorqueinterruptwithtraditionalsynchronizer.whichshowssignificantadvantageofthenewconcept.
