Hydraulichybridpropulsionisasolutiontoimprovegreenhouseemissionsofvehicles.Powerdensity,abilitytoallownewengineconcepts,likefreepistonwithimprovedthermodynamiccycles,capabilityfortheinternalcombustionenginetorunatconstant,andhereafterlowemissionconditions,alsotheabilitytorecoverdifferentsizesofenergyandlastbutnotleast,usingconventionaltechnologyandapplicabilityonallvehicles,evenitisbicycle,micromobilitydedicated,conventionalorheavydutyareargumentstofurtherimproveefficiencyandtechnicalsolutions.Adevelopmentsolutionforhydraulichybridpropulsionsystemsisbasedontheprinciplethatthecolumnofliquidthattransferstheenergyisinvolvedinanalternatemovementandisnotflowingcontinuously,justoscillatingaboutanaveragevalue.Thepaperpresentstheperformancesofanoffroadvehicle,DaciaDuster,equippedwithanalternanthydraulictransmissionsystem.Thehydrauliccircuitisdesignedtoallowdynamicphenomena,likeinertiaandaccumulatingeffectstoincreasetheenergyconcentrationforlowdissipationrates.Afterdesigningtheworkingprincipleofthealternanthydraulicgeneratorandmotor,flowisoptimizedusingaLatticeBolzmannCFDsoftware,toidentifyundersourceofflowlossunderdynamicconditions.1DCFDandmulti-physicssimulationisusedinordertodesignthehydrauliccircuit.Atestrigmodelisusedtovalidatetheconceptunderrealrunningconditions.Particularattentionisgiventotheleak-pressurewaverelation.Thetestrigmodelisadaptedtothevehicleanddynamicperformancesevaluatedandcomparedtothebasemodel.
