Numericalstudyondynamicresponseofabargetypeoffshorefloatingwindturbine.pdf
Inthispaper,thedynamicresponseofa5-MWbarge-typeoffshorefloatingwindturbine(OFWT)incombinedwind-waveconditionsisnumericallyinvestigatedwithanewlydevelopedintegratedanalysistool.Inthistool,weuseanefficientandhigh-fidelityhydrodynamicmodeldevelopedinoneoftheauthors'previouswork tocalculatethewaveload.Toaccountforthewindload,thepresenthorizontalaxiswindturbineissimplifiedasa"uniformactuatordisk"inthistool.Fortherestoringforcebymooringlines,thequasi-staticmethodisimplemented.Bycombiningthesemodelswithrigidbodydynamics,thepresentintegratedanalysistoolisthusdeveloped.Inordertovalidatethepresenttool,itisusedtopredictthenaturalfrequencyofthepitchDOFofthebarge-typeoffshorefloatingwindturbine.Aftervalidation,theintegratedanalysistoolisusedtoinvestigatetheeffectsofwavefrequencyandwaveheightonthepowergeneration,themeansurgeposition,waveloads,andthebendingmomentattherootofthetower.Obviousnonlineareffectsofwavefrequencyandwaveheightareobservedontheseinterestedparametersthroughthepresentstudy.
