Rear-diffuserAngleisanimportantfactorinfluencingtheaerodynamicperformanceofabluntbody.NumericalstudyisperformedtoevaluatetheinfluenceoftheRear-diffuseAngleonaerodynamic,andtherelationshipbetweenaerodynamicandRear-diffuserAngleissummarizedinthispaper.TheflowaroundthebluntbodyisanalyzedanddiscussedfordetailunderstandingtheeffectoftheRear-diffuserAngletoaerodynamic.Passengervehicleisatypicalbluntbody,theflownearthesetypesofvehiclemarkedlyinfluencetheiraerodynamiccharacteristics.Overthepastseveraldecades,manyinvestigationsoftheflowaroundthesevehicleshavebeencarriedoutontheupper-rearregion.Ahmedetal,performedanexperimentalstudyoftheeffectsofbaseslantangleofahatchbackshapeonthetime-averagedpropertiesoftheflow.Theyproposedawakevortexsystemforhatchbacks.Subsequently,Nouzawaetal,investigatedtheflowstructureofthenotchbacktypevehicle.Theystructuredaflowpatternfornotchbackswithnoreardiffuserslant.Theirresultsindicatedthattheaerodynamicdragcouldbeincreasedbygenerationofthetrailingvortexatthetrunk-deckandtheso-calledarchvortexbehindthebacklight.ThesestudiesimprovedourunderstandingoftheinfluenceoftheRear-diffuserAngleontheaerodynamicperformance.
