Stringentemissionnormsaroundtheworldencourageautomotivemanufacturerstoadoptatechnology,whichwillgiveloweremissionsandhigherefficiency.ICenginesfuelledwithfossilfuelsgivehigheramountofcarbondioxideemissions,causingmajoreffectonenvironment.Althoughelectricvehiclesincludingfuelcellvehiclesprovideupperhandintermsofzeroemissions.Weneeddiversityofvariousalternativefuelstoreducedependenceoffossilfuels.Biofuelsfromvarioussourcesarebecomingpopularandneedssomemodificationsinengineworkingparameterssuchasignitiondelaybecauseoftheirdiversechemicalattributestogetsameoutputasoffossilfuelledcombustionengines.ThispaperinvestigatesideaofanovelfuelsensorbasedonSolidOxideFuelCell(SOFC)technol-ogy.VoltageoutputofSOFCvariesaccordingtovaryingchemicalfuelcompositions,makingitsuitabletobeusedasasignalgenera-tor.AstudyoffactorsaffectingSOFCperformanceandresponsetimewascarriedoutandparameterstobeadjustedduringexperimentsareoptimizedforfabricationofproposedtestrig.However,tofullproofinvestmentgoingonforexperimentalplanstostudyresponsetimeofSOFCtovaryingfuelsatchanginggastemperature,massflowrateandpressuresimulationstudieswerecarriedout.SOFCsimulationwasdoneinCHEMKINsoftwareandamathematicalmodelforcalculationofresponsetimewasdoneinMATLAB.Optimumsetofvaluesforpressure,temperature&massflowrateaimedatminimumresponsetimeofSOFCbasedsensorwereobtainedthroughsimulations.
