Anestimationmethodforcalculatinginverterpowerlossisproposedforspacevectorpulsewidthmodulation(SVPWM)widelyusedinthe48v,24vand12vvehicledrivesystem.Firstly,thispaperstudiestheswitchingpowerlossoftheMOSFET(metal-oxide-semiconductorfield-effecttransistor)indetail.ThentheconductionpowerlossesoftheMOSFETinthesixvectorsectorsarecalculatedseparatelyandsummedup.Afterthat,asimulationmodelfortorquecloseloopcontrolwasbuiltinPLECSenvironment.Thepowerlossesaremodelledbyatableinthesimulation,thentheMOSFETdietemperatureandthermalsinktemperaturearethussimulatedalso.Thesimulationresultsshowedthattheinvertersystemperformswellwithfastsystemresponseandgoodthermalbehaviorwhichwillguiderealthermalengineering.
