Hapticguidancecontrolisoneofthemostpromisingtoolsasadriverassistantsystemduetoprovidingsteeringtorqueforpathguidancewithoutimposingmuchstressondriver'svision.Inaddition,itcanprovidecontinuousassistanceunlikesoundpresentationsystem.Inthispaper,itisconsideredthathapticsteeringcanbeappliedtolanechangeassistance,andanassistanttorquecaninstructthedriverstochoosethetargetcourseintuitively.Adrivingsimulatorexperimentwascarriedout,toevaluatedriver'sresponsestothedifferentkindsofassistantsteeringtorques.Theexperimentalresultsindicatetherearesuitableamplitude,frequencyanddutyratioofthetorquetoindicatethedirectiontodrivers.
