Vehicle-to-everything(V2X),whereXcouldbevehicle/infrastructure/pedestrian/network,improvestheroadsafetyandtrafficefficiency.StandardizationofLTEV2XhasbeenactivelyconductedbytheThirdGenerationPartnershipProject(3GPP)toprovidethesolutionsforV2Xcommunications,andthecorepartsofR14(Release14)standardizedworkhasbeencompletedinJune2017exceptforsomemaintenancesofCRs.Inthispaperthedetailedresourceallocationmechanismof3GPPLTEV2Xarepresented,andsystemperformanceofLTEV2XisevaluatedaccordingtoR143GPPLTEV2Xprotocol,thenthecomparisonof3GPPR14LTEV2XandIEEE802.11phasbeenanalyzed.FromtheevaluationresultsitcanbeseenthattheperformanceofLTEV2XisremarkablesuperiortoIEEE802.11pinfreewayandurbanscenarios.
