Atearlybrakedesignstage,itisimportanttorapidlyandreasonablydeterminethecomponents'size,andthensamplesaremanufacturedtobeassembledfirstprototypicalvehicles.What'smore,somekeyparametersshouldbeconstrainedtosatisfyvehicle-andsystematic-levelbrakeperformance.Inthisway,theworksandcostduringprototypicalvehiclevalidationstagewillbesignificantlydecreased,andamorespaceisreservedforimprovementofbrakeperformance.But,itisdifficulttopredictbrakeperformanceswithfewreliableinputs,becausetherearen'tentitiesofbrakecomponents,evenaren'tvirtual3Dmodels.ThisarticledevotestodevelopandpredictbrakeperformanceatearlydesignstagefromtheOEM'sperspective,including:1)thescopeofbrakeperformance;2)themethodtopreciselypredictbrakeperformancethroughoutCAEtool.
