TheWorldSID50thpercentilemaleisbeingincreasinglyimplementedinSideImpactCrashtestprotocols.Thereasonbehindthisisthatitsenhancedbio-fidelityreplicatesahumanbodyinasideimpactcrashtestscenariomorecloselythananyotherAn-thropomorphicTestDevices(ATDs).Thedummysupplierhasrecentlyreleasedanewshoulderclevisandarmforthisdummy.ThesemodificationshavebeenintroducedtoavoidseveralknownproblemsfromthepreviousversionofWorldSID50th'sshoulderclevis.Theseproblemsweremainlyrelatedtoarmpositioningdifficultiesandexcessiveeaseofmovementduetosuittension.However,asthedesignhasbeenchanged,thebehaviourofthedummy,especiallyitsarmkinematicsmayhavealsochanged.SincethenewWorldSIDshoulderclevisdesignhasbeenreleased,manyOEM'shaveperformedsidesledandcrashtestsatIDIA-DAusingthesenewparts.Datacomingfromthesetestshasledtobelievethattherecouldbeapotentialdifferenceintheresultsdepen-dingontheshoulderandarmusedfortesting.Asaconsequence,IDIADAhasstartedaresearchprojectthataimstodefinethedifferentbehavioursofthesepartsthroughexhaus-tivetestingandanalysis.ThispaperincludesresultsfromanumberofpendulumtestsperformedatIDIADAusingthesamedummybutchangingtheshoulderclevisandarm.Thisdatashowsthatdifferenceswerefoundwhileevaluatingthereproducibilityoftheseresults,nevertheless,theau-thorsareawarethattheseresultsmightbeunrepresentativeduetotestsetupvariability.BecauseofthisfurthertestingwillbeconductedwhichwillincludeStaticDeploymentandSideSledtestingtorobustlyprovethebehaviouranddifferencesofclevisandarm.
