Inthispaper,weproposeamethodtoself-localizeavehicleusingaperiodicsignaltransmittedbyaroadsideunit(RSU)inglobalnavigationsatellitesystem(GNSS)deniedenvironments.Theon-boardunit(OBU)inthevehiclemeasuresthetime-of-arrival(TOA)oftheperiodicmessagesatdifferentlocationsalongitstrajectory.BycomparingtheTOAofsuccessivemessagesatdifferentpointsalongitstrajectory,theOBUcaneventuallyestimateitsownlocation.Thechallengeliesinseparatingthetimeoffsetduetoreceivermovementfromthatcausedbylocaloscillator(LO)drift.WeproposeanadaptivefilterframeworkthatestimatestheLOdriftandthevehiclelocationsimultaneously,usingtheTOAmeasurementsandtheRSUlocationasinputs.Theproposedalgorithmisevaluatedthroughdifferentsimulations,andtheresultsdemonstratethattheproposedmethodisabletosimultaneouslylocatethevehicleandestimatetheLOdriftwithgoodaccuracy.
