Increasingtheairinflowcanreducetheresidualexhaustgascoefficientinthecylinderatlow-speedandlow-load,butwouldcausemixturetooleaninopposed-pistontwo-stroke(OPTS)gasolinedirectinjection(GDI)engine.Focusingonthisissue,thestrategiesoftwo-stageinjectionforstratifiedmixtureatthetypicalpartload(2000r/min)werestudiedwithCFDsoftware.Themodelsforfuelthescavengingprocessandspraywereverifiedbytests.Simulationresultsshowthat,thereisanoptimalsecondinjectiontimeforpropermixing,withearlyorlateinjectionresultinginunreasonablemixturedistribution,thebestsecondinjectiontimeat60℃ATDC.Thefuelquantitiesofthesecondinjectionsignificantlyinfluencesthemixtureformation,thesecondinjectionaccountforathirdoftotalfuelquantitiesresultinginreasonablemixturedistributioninthecylinder.
