Incustomerservice(CS),customersposequestionsthatwillbeansweredbycustomerservicestaff,andthecommunicationinCSisatypicalmulti-roundconversation.However,therearenoexplicitcorrespondencesamongconversationalutterances,andobtainingtheexplicitalignmentsofthoseutterancesnotonlycontributestodialogueanalysisbutalsoprovidesvaluabledataforlearningintelligentdialoguesystems.Inthispaper,wefirstpresentastudyonutterancealignment(UA)inCS.Wedividethealignmentofutterancesintofourtypes:None,One-to-One,One-to-ManyandJump.Thedirectdesignmodelssuchasrule-basedandmatching-basedmethodsareoftenonlygoodatsolvingpartoftypes,andthemajorreasonisthattheyignoretheinteractionsofdifferentutterances.Therefore,tomodelthemutualinfluenceofdifferentutterancesaswellastheiralignments,weproposeajointmodelwhichmodelstheUAasataskofjointdisambiguationandresolvedbyintegerprogramming.WeconductexperimentsonadatasetofaninhouseonlineCS.Andtheresultsindicatethatitperformsbetterthanbaselinemodels,especiallyforOne-to-ManyandJumpalignments.
